Common questions about how BecomeMafia works, what unlocks at which level, and how to fix the most frequent issues new players run into.
Golden grenades?
You need golden grenades from level 44 to summon/open Family Bosses fights. Family bosses are the main source of Research Points, which feed the Research Lab.
How to get golden grenades?
They drop from crimes, car robbery, Attack PVP, money transports, Family Wars, challenges, the Transport Company and more. Researches can boost your luck of finding them.
I lost followers, why?
You lose up to 2 followers per day, but your total never drops below 50% of your all-time peak. Hit 80 once and you'll never go below 40.
A lot of my cars get stolen by other players?
Don't hold cars too long — sell them often. Worried about cash loot when selling? Read the "Cash loot" / "Save cash" sections of Attack PVP.
Where are my family bombs?
Family bombs can only be donated in Family Wars. They show in your equipment inventory but can't be equipped on troops or bosses. View or sell them in the Pawn Shop.
My new power did not count for the tournament. Also, if I unequip weapons, will I still face higher-power opponents?
The game stores the maximum power you've ever had to prevent gaming the matchmaker. Unequipping weapons to face weaker opponents does not work — same for family tournaments and Family Wars.
Why is my score not being added to the family tournament?
When you join a family, your score is excluded from the current week's tournament. You have to wait until next week.
What is the family rank "Noob"?
This rank blocks a player from doing challenges, boss fights, tobacco planting and meth donation/selling within your family — no need to instant-kick them.
Where can we find Research Points?
From Family Bosses fights, Family Wars, the Research Lab activity meter, and the Scrap Yard. Points are also given away regularly on Facebook.
